A modern stadium with artificial grass, the new ground at Maili Tisa is a breeding ground for new talent. Musa Moilo reports
Enkanasa Stadium in Maili Tisa, Kajiado Central, is changing the lives of many young footballers in rural parts of the constituency.
This is a modern stadium with artificial grass and built by renowned businessman Simon Noonkanas alias Pajero. It is now a training camp for many young and talented people who aim to achieve professional success in football.
Teams from rural parts of Meto, Lorngosua, Mailwa, Maisikiria, Nentonai and neighbouring Tanzania also come together to play with the home team, Nkanas FC, which was founded by Pajero.
Many youth have express their joy at the opening of the stadium, saying it presents a new experience and opportunities.
“We wish to thank Pajero for this stadium. For some of us, this is the first time we are playing on artificial grass. We know with this experience, some of us will soon join the county league and later the Kenya premier league,” said Lemayian Seitah from Empukani Fc in Meto.
Speaking to Kajiado County News, Pajero said he was driven by his passion for sports to build the stadium. “I saw that the best way to help many of our young people was to put up Enkanasa Stadium, which is a modern stadium. We made it open for all teams to train here.”
Pajero added that a lot of young men stand to benefit. “Many young talents will emerge from here. That is why we are inviting teams from all over — Meto, Mailwa, and Lorngosua. We are still building a complete complex with changing rooms, training grounds, and all other facilities that are needed.”
The Stadium is now proud to have produced one of the finest strikers in the Kenya Premier League — Eric Kapaito — who plays for Kariobangi Sharks.
